Skydiving brings about many emotions; you’ll feel accomplished, you’ll gain a new perspective, and you’ll feel AMAZING! Trust us, you’re going to want to express those incredible feelings – and you have full permission to express yo’self in any way you see fit! Whether it’s a yawp, a giant smile, a fashion statement, a slightly accidental obscenity, or through a hand-written message (literally).
We’ve got a few ideas on ways to say how you feel, what to write on your hands when skydiving, and how to look cute doing it!
HOW DO YOU LOOK CUTE WHEN SKYDIVING?
While skydiving is an experience beyond belief, it can be kind of an awkward situation – squatting in weird positions while attached to someone else on the airplane, 120+ mph winds wiggling your skin, blowing your lips around, and whipping your hair up in strange ways. Don’t worry, we know how to embrace these interesting situations with three essential ways to stay lookin’ fresh while skydiving.
1. The Perfect Outfit
The top criterion for what to wear when skydiving is comfort. Comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers that are secure to your foot (you don’t want to lose your shoe in freefall). We always suggest layering up because it’s always better to have more clothes than you need than not enough! Besides, it is 30-40 degrees colder up at altitude and you may want long sleeves to protect your skin from the high wind speeds. From there, you can get creative – especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. So bring that birthday custom tee, rainbow tutu, or dinosaur costume if you’re feeling up to it! We’ll let you know if the ‘fit you choose is fit to fly.
2. Skydiving Hair Styling
Skydiving with long hair will create some potential visual obstructions and knots that are impossible to remove. We recommend a tight bun, ponytail, or braids when taming your mane for skydiving. It’ll look good and will keep you from temporarily blinding your instructor!
3. Skydiving Poses
Your instructor will have you put your head back when skydiving to keep proper body position, but as a bonus – it’s a great position for capturing great photos/videos of your experience. So keep your chin up, smile big to keep those cheeks from flapping, give a thumbs-up, chuck up the deuces, and try to interact with the camera as much as possible!
WHAT DO YOU SAY WHILE SKYDIVING?
Skydiving can be pretty loud so you won’t have much time to verbalize how you feel, so let’s stick to some funny skydiving one-liners and movie quotes.
Funny things to say before skydiving:
- “Holy !#$%@!”
- “Sorry, Mom!”
- “To infinity and beyond!”
- “Hi, Mom!”
- “Hasta La Vista, Baby!”
WHAT DO YOU WRITE ON YOUR HANDS WHEN SKYDIVING?
When you’re traveling at 120+ mph, you’ll quickly find out that you can’t hear much of anything other than the whooshing of the fresh, cool air at 10,000 ft. So maybe you’ll want to express yourself in a non-verbal way through a literal hand-written message.
write skydiving phrases on your hands or forearms:
- No / Limits
- Carpe / Diem
- Live / Now
- Sorry / Mom
- Take / Chances
SKYDIVING INSTAGRAM CAPTIONS
Of course, you’ll want to share the photos/videos of your skydive with your friends and family and one of the most popular ways is by posting them on social media. What do you say when trying to describe a speechless experience?
examples of inspirational quotes, skydiving puns, and funny skydiving captions for Facebook or Instagram:
- “Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.”
- “How was your weekend?”
- “Soaring out of my 20’s” (if you’re celebrating a birthday)
- “Celebrate life”
- “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”
- “Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly.”
- “Because the door was open!”
- “Peace, love and skydiving!”
- “Living my best life!”

One of the most popular skydiving phrases is “blue skies”, this is something we say to each other as a wish for good luck, love, peace, good vibes, and a friendly gesture. Kind of similar to “aloha”.
